Delta Omega: Mark Pruitt Run for the MacKay Foundation

Dear Brothers, Parents, and Friends,

We will be hosting our annual charity run on Thursday, April 14th, 2011. Since the early eighties, our chapter has hosted this event, formerly called the Piccolo Run, in which brothers run a relay from the original campus in Wake Forest, North Carolina to today’s Reynolda campus in Winston-Salem. The Mark Pruitt Run for the MacKay Foundation has raised a significant amount of donations in recent years and we look forward to continuing our success with the help of your generous contributions.

The run will begin on Thursday afternoon, April 14th, at the original Wake Forest campus and will end Friday, April 15th, around noon in front of Wait Chapel. Different relay teams made up of Kappa Sigma brothers will run the total distance of 120 miles in approximately twenty hours. We encourage you to show your support by joining us in celebrating the completion of the event on Friday afternoon.

Proceeds from the event will benefit the MacKay Foundation for Cancer Research, which has raised over $950,000 toward continuing research at the Wake Forest University School of Medicine, Section on Hematology and Oncology. Further detail concerning the MacKay Foundation can be found on the attached form. We would greatly appreciate any donations toward this noble cause. We accept checks payable to Kappa Sigma Fraternity-Delta Omega mailed to the address above, or for your convenience, electronic donations are possible via PayPal on our new chapter website, www.kappasigmadeltaomega.com. If you choose to donate via PayPal, please specify in the “Add special instructions” box that your contribution is for the Mark Pruitt Run. In addition, feel free to browse our website and sign up for our alumni groups on LinkedIn and Facebook!

If you have any questions regarding the Mark Pruitt Run for the MacKay Foundation, feel free to email Ryan Hughes at hughrt7@wfu.edu or Matt Russo at russma7@wfu.edu at any time. We greatly appreciate your time and would like to thank you in advance for your support. We look forward to seeing you on Friday, April 15th in front of Wait Chapel around noon.

AEKDB,

John Kirkpatrick, Ryan Hughes and Matt Russo
